Ponies Ball Retrievers – Guidelines

1. Six to eight ball retrievers are needed for each game and commitment must be for both the first and second half.

2. Wear your SCVAA soccer shirt.

3. Dress for the weather of the day.

4. Get assigned your game and verify with your leadership.

5. Arrive with your coach or responsible adult 15 minutes before game time.

6. Admission is free for one responsible adult and each ball retriever.

7. Adult must get a free treat ticket from the Stillwater Soccer Boosters for each ball retriever.

8. At half time kids will turn in their ticket to the Stillwater Soccer Boosters concession stand for one drink and one treat.

9. Once assembled before the game, report to the bench side of the field for instructions from the referees. They will give placement assignments and other instructions.

10. Introduction of both teams will include the ball retrievers will join the Ponies team as they take the field for introductions. Listen to the directions from you Pony player partner.

11. Immediately after the national anthem, the players will run to their ball retrieving position.

12. During the game please stand back on the track and toss the available ball to an approaching Soccer player. Then go and retrieve the out of bounds ball and return to your spot. Remember to toss a ball in first then go and retrieve the ball.

13. Please be alert and face the field.

14. During the first half of the game the coach must submit to the press box the name of the SCVAA team and age group plus the names of the ball retrievers and coach.

15. Otherwise the coach, responsible adult, must remain down on the field supervising the ball retrievers.

16. Stay for both halves.

17. At the end of the game the ball retrieving team must gather all the balls and brought to the Ponies’ bench.
